Snail Repair Intensive Essence - EXPIRY AUG 15, 2021 - FINAL SALE
Sister product to the All-in-One Snail Repair Cream
This Snail Repair Intensive Essence contains 86% snail mucin, and it has the same qualities as the cream: hydrating, repairing, brightening. Centella asiatica, a superstar ingredient of Korean skincare, helps brighten skin and helps prevent scarring, while hyaluronic acid deeply hydrates skin, not only boosting moisture but also, and more importantly, locking it in. Unlike other essences, which are watery, this has a smooth gel texture that is cooling when applied, absorbing quickly and leaving your skin primed for the next step in your skincare routine. It is suitable for all skin types and contains no added fragrance.
(1) Snail mucin is kind of a miracle ingredient. First, it helps hydrate skin because it contains hyaluronic acid. Second, it helps seal in moisture and helps active ingredients penetrate skin. Third, it helps improve skin’s elasticity by encouraging collagen production. Fourth, it evens out skin tone because it contains glycolic acid and helps fade scarring. Finally, it is soothing, making it a suitable ingredient for all skin types. And don’t worry — Mizon assures us that no snails are harmed in the production of snail mucin.
(2) Adenosine is derived from yeast. It’s reputed to be an anti-wrinkle ingredient because it helps encourage collagen and elastin production in skin. It also helps fight the effects of UV damage, which, in turn, helps fight the production of wrinkles.
(3) Centella asiatica extract is a popular ingredient found in Korean skincare — and for good reason. It contains niacin, which helps brighten skin, and it’s a rich source of amino acids, which help hydrate skin. Centella asiatica also has antibacterial properties and can help repair skin and prevent scarring by encouraging collagen production and cell turnover.
(4) Hyaluronic acid is a super hydrator that’s naturally found in skin. It not only helps boost skin’s moisture content, but it also helps skin retain that moisture.

THE 10 STEP ROUTINE
Step 1 & 2: Cleansing
There are typically 2 different types of cleansers you should use - oil-based and water based cleansers
1. Oil-Based Cleansers:
The base of the Korean skincare routine and the first step of the double cleanse.
They serve to remove make-up and draw out other oil-based impurities such as sebum, SPF, and pollution
2. Water-Based Cleanser
The second step of the double cleanse is highly recommended by aestheticians and dermatologists because it thoroughly removes any impurities that can cause breakouts.
Water-based cleansers dissolve water-based impurities such as dirt and sweat that the oil cleanser did not pick up
Step 3: Exfoliator
Step 4: Toner
Step 5: Essence
Step 6: Serums & Ampoules (Treatments)Serums and ampoules are the more concentrated with a thicker consistency than essences. Packed with powerhouse ingredients that target specific skin concerns such as acne, fine lines, and hyperpigmentation
Step 7: MasksThe soul of the 10-step routine are sheet masks. The key to sheet masks is the prolonged contact with your face that allows the skin to fully absorb the abundant nutrients and moisture
Step 8: Eye CreamThe skin around the eyes is the thinnest and most delicate, so regular use of an intensive eye cream can prevent dark circles, puffiness and crow's feet.
Eye creams are highly concentrated with gentle, non-irritating yet effective ingredients.
Step 9: Cream & MoisturizersA very important step to seal in all moisture and nutrients from the prior steps.
Step 10: SPF/Sun ProtectionSunscreen is the easiest and most effective way to protect your skin, even when you stay indoors! It is extremely effective at combating premature aging due to sun damage (and skin cancer!)
Sunscreen should be the last step to shield your skin.
